What is Cellbits.com?

Cellbits.com is an outlet for the creative output of a small group of independent artists, animators and photographers aimed at entertaining cell phone users with static and animated mobile phone artworks.

Why are most of the items on the site free, while others are not?

Sometimes it depends on how much work went into the individual piece. Other times it's based on the artist's desires. Some "premium" items may occasionally appear as "free" items for a brief time, so it is definitely worth visiting often. Maybe you'll catch a "limited time freebie"!

Why do you keep putting the word "free" in quotes?

Because nothing is totally "free"! To view our site, you have probably paid for an internet connection. You pay to own and use a cell phone, too. Even though we don't charge you for a free item or it's download, your cellular company may charge you by the kilobyte downloaded, or you may pay an additional fee for data access and messaging plans. Plus, there are usually a few kilobytes transferred just by going to the web link for your desired download. Why can't I send a "copy" of a downloaded item to a friend's phone or PC?

We like to have all the individual visitors we can get! And you saw how easy it was to download your cell animation or wallpaper. Tell your friends to visit Cellbits.com!
